FBW’s Connect the Waterfront – 30 Years of Advocacy, annual fundraising party will be held virtually on November 12 at 7 p.m.
The event will include an online auction beginning Nov. 5 and a video that features the Billion Oyster Project, Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla, musician James Calleo and FBW’s 30-year history
Who: The Fund for a Better Waterfront (FBW), celebrating its 30th year anniversary, has devoted itself to the principle that the water’s edge belongs to the public. This Nov. 30th video event will be hosted by Frank Rosner and feature Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla, FBW founder Augusta Przygoda, the Billion Oyster Project, former Mayor David Roberts and many others. Joe Covello, the President of Liberty Realty, is the honorary chair for this event. The program includes a special performance by local singer/songwriter James Calleo of his song, “Elysium.”
What: Connect the Waterfront – 30 Years of Advocacy is FBW’s annual fundraising party, this year held virtually via a video program that includes FBW’s 30 year history, a waterfront update from Mayor Bhalla and a look at what lies ahead to complete a plan and a continuous, public park for Hoboken’s waterfront. FBW will present the 9th Annual Riparian Award to the Billion Oyster Project. An online auction will run for a week prior to the event. VIP tickets include a delivered dinner catered by Anthony David’s.
Why: FBW’s 1990 Plan for the Hoboken Waterfront and years of advocacy that followed has played a pivotal role in shaping the redevelopment of the waterfront, that includes a contiguous park, portions of which have garnered numerous awards. With continued support, FBW’s advocacy in the years ahead can guarantee the completion of its 30-year old plan, thus making Hoboken a model for riverfront development that other communities will seek to emulate.
Where: Due to the COVID-crisis, for the first time, FBW will hold a virtual event. Event participants will be able to watch the video online, purchase tickets and bid on auction items at the event website: https://one.bidpal.net/connectthewaterfront2020/.
When: The video/event will stream on Thursday, November 12 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The online auction starts Thursday, November 5 and concludes on November 13.
