City of Water Day 2026 – Living With Water: Celebrating Access to the Waterways That Connect Us – Schedule of Events for Saturday, July 25

Free fun for all ages. All activities take place on or near Maxwell Place Park, 1100 Sinatra Drive North, Hoboken. Interactive Scavenger hunt with prizes (details to follow).

Urban Souls, 10 am – Join Urban Souls for gentle morning yoga and sound bath while overlooking the Hudson River. Bring your own yoga mat.

Our Tern, 10 am – noon – Birdwatching with Jeff Train of Our Tern

Interactive information tables, chalk drawing, and question wall: 10 am – 4 pm

  • Fund for a Better Waterfront, we believe that successful waterfronts begin with sound planning, time-tested urban design and an understanding that the water’s edge belongs to the public. Come see our waterfront maps.
  • Stop the Chop, a grassroots organization formed to reduce helicopter noise and ban nonessential flights over the NYC Metropolitan Area. Learn what you can do.
  • Hudson River Waterfront Conservancy (HRWC) is a New Jersey non-profit organization dedicated to creating and protecting the 18.5 mile Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, a continuous public path stretching from Bayonne to the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee.
  • North Hudson Sewerage Authority, serving Hoboken, Union City, Weehawken, and West New York. The Authority will safeguard the local waterways, while operating a cost-efficient, streamlined regional wastewater treatment system.
  • Meadow Lab, a public benefit corporation that works to develop plant products that simplify and accelerate the creation of beautiful, biodiverse and high-performance landscapes for a world facing climate change.

Resilience Adventures, 11 am – 5:30 pm – Join Resilience Adventures to explore the river. Hands-on estuary biodiversity exploration for children, using hand/seining nets at the Hoboken Cove beach. Instructions for stand-up-paddleboard classes for adults throughout the day (registration required). In the afternoon, Resilience will team up with the Hoboken Historical Museum to provide a waterfront history kayak tour (registration is required).

Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse, 9 am – 6 pm

  • Kayak / SUP in the cove: 9 am – 4 pm
  • Short River Trips* 9:30 am, 10:30 am and 2:30 pm
  • Public River Trip* 4 pm – 6 pm

Ke Aloha Outrigger, 10 am – 4 pm – Ke Aloha Outrigger at Hoboken Cove will present a variety of family-oriented activities on and adjacent to the water including a shoreline cleanup, outrigger canoe trips on the Hudson River and a festival featuring lei-making, crafts and educational events inspired by the Pacific Island cultures that thrive living by the water. Our event is open to people of all ages though our canoe trips will be limited to participants 14 years old and up.
