
Seth Abrams is a seasoned civil litigator and community advocate who has dedicated his career to navigating complex legal landscapes and improving the quality of life in his home city of Hoboken. As Counsel with Schumann Hanlon Margulies in their Jersey City office, Seth provides strategic representation for New York and New Jersey businesses facing high-stakes commercial challenges in both state and federal courts.
With a legal foundation built at the University of Miami School of Law (J.D., 2007) and a B.A. from Syracuse University, Seth has developed a diverse litigation portfolio. He possesses significant experience handling intricate contract disputes, shareholder and partnership conflicts, insurance coverage, and matters involving trade secrets and unfair competition. Additionally, he is highly regarded for his skill in managing complex estate litigation. His professional leadership extends to the New Jersey State Bar Association, where he served as Chair of the Internet and Computer Law Committee, and he is a former Barrister in the Brennan-Vanderbilt Inn of Court.
Beyond the courtroom, Seth is a fixture in Hoboken’s civic life. Driven by a passion for environmental safety and public health, he organized Lead-Free Hoboken in 2023, a group of concerned citizens dedicated to eradicating lead service lines and ensuring compliance with the New Jersey Safe Drinking Water Act. His commitment to the city’s future is further evidenced by his 2024 appointment to the Board of Directors for the Fund for a Better Waterfront.
Seth’s record of public service also includes two terms as a Commissioner on the Hoboken Historic Preservation Commission and a tenure representing the First Ward – Fourth District and now the Fifth Ward – Fourth District on the Hoboken Democratic Committee. He is also active in broader social causes, having served on the Anti-Defamation League’s New York/New Jersey Next-Gen Board and Lead-Free New Jersey’s Advocacy Committee
Seth and his wife Julie Boucherit, a Director of Sales at Akris, have lived in Hoboken since 2011. Their two children (Emmeline age 10 and Grey age 5) attend Brandt elementary school. Seth remains deeply invested in the various professional and civic associations that make the region a vibrant place to live and work.
