Julia and Conor Devine
Conor Devine was born and raised in New Jersey and has always sought opportunities to be on or around the water. From surfing and diving growing up, to rowing in college, to sailing on the Hudson River, New York Harbor, and abroad, the waterfront has been a constant part of his life.
A Hoboken resident for more than a decade, Conor especially values the city’s waterfront and the unique public access it provides to the Hudson River. Through friends who share his passion for the water and public access to it, he was introduced to the Fund for a Better Waterfront. After volunteering with the organization and gaining a deeper appreciation for its advocacy and stewardship efforts, he joined the Board of Directors to help support FBW’s mission of protecting and enhancing the waterfront for current and future generations.
Professionally, Conor works in the construction industry, where he has spent his career managing the planning and delivery of large, complex projects throughout the New York metropolitan area. His experience navigating the intersection of development, infrastructure, public stakeholders, and the built environment and his education in engineering provides a practical perspective that aligns closely with FBW’s efforts to advocate for thoughtful waterfront planning, public access, and responsible growth.
