Classic Harbor Line yacht
We will leave at 10 AM sharp from Lincoln Harbor (1500 Harbor Boulevard, Weehawken, NJ). We’ll tour the Hoboken and Jersey City waterfront, highlighting current FBW projects – Union Dry Dock, the Monarch, and Central Waterfront – as well as important historic and architectural sites along the way. Of course, we’ll enjoy the views of New York Harbor and Manhattan’s ever-changing western waterfront, but this is a unique opportunity to view our own waterfront from a unique vantage point: the Hudson River.
The tour will illustrate the waterfront’s vast transformation from industry to residential development, and evaluate the challenges of resilient urban planning and park design in a future with rising sea levels and more frequent storm surges.
The tour will feature architect Arthur Platt, a co-chair of the AIA Architectural Tourism committee who regularly leads AIA’s Around Manhattan Boat Tour and created the Featured Guide Series.
We hope you’ll join us for this tour of our magnificent waterfront – from the riverside!
We would like to thank Classic Harbor Line for partnering with the Fund for a Better Waterfront for this event. A link to their website is provided below.
